I am developing a report in query studio and trying to run it , it run's very well in html and pdf but when i am trying to run the report in any of the excel formats or csv format, it starts running the report and all of a sudden the window closes.
I checked the KB#1015618.1 , KB #1014647, and even checked the internet options and ensure that no popup blockers preventing cognos connection.But nothing is working out.any suggestions will help me a lot.

I've seen something simliar happen where they would get a error message every time they downloaded to excel from Cognos Connection. In addition to changing settings in the KB articles you mentioned, we deinstalled all toolbars (ie yahoo toolbar, google toolbar) as even though you may disable the pop up blockers in the toolbars they occasionally still interfere. The person was also on IE6, so we upgraded them to IE7.
Not a Pop-Up blocker issue. Change your IE security settings. What those setting are exactly, I do not know, but if you lower your security setting to medium-low, it wil no longer be an issue.
As a work-around, press the ctrl key as the page begins to load the excel format
In IE under Tools -> Security -> Internet -> Custom Level, changing Automatic prompting for file downloads from Disable to Enable worked for me.
