I am working with a .pyi where for space reasons we save without categories built.
In one of the dimension I am trying to create an orphanage.
I follow the steps in the Cognos manual
Open Diagram, select leftmost highest level, then from Edit Menu select New Item.
But on choosing a level New Item not there.
Has anyone set up an orphanage like this?
Normally when the categories are saved I just remove the Unsupress and give it a name but I can't i n this instance.

Last I knew, with Transformer, manually adding an orphanage only works with manually added levels. I could be wrong.
Have you tried this? Generate categories into the model. Unsuppress and rename the auto-orphanage. Then highlight all of the other categories that were generated and hit delete. Then save the model. When you build the cube, the other categories should be regenerated into the cube, just don't resave the model after the builds (as you have been). I ran a test build through a few times just now, and it appears to have worked.
