I have an issue in Cognos 8.2 FM Modeling. I have changed the column width / precision of a column in a fact Table in Database. It was 50 earlier, now it was increased to 120. But my FM Project is still showng me the precision as 50. Now how do I make my FM project in sync with the underlying table? Do I have to re-import the fact table again ? Is there any other way to accomplish this?
What is Project Synchronization ? ???How is it carried out in C8 Framework Manager? My model is a DMR with Database , Business and Presentation Layer.

No, never, never delete and import again. You have to remodel everything related to that query subject.
Simply select the query subject(s) that need these updates applied and click the Tools menu and select, Update Object. You may need to perform this on both the data source queries and the model queries (if any) that reference the data source queries involved.
A different precision should not matter. When you change datatype , then you must make sure FM en database are aligned.
