Title: Joining two cubes in Transformer
Post by: akhardenavis on 29 Apr 2008 11:47:18 PM
We have two cubes. We want to use both cubes in a single crosstab. We tried to join at report studio level and Framework Manager level. I guess it is not possible to join two cubes at report level or FM level.

We want to know is it possible to join two cubes at Transformer level? What could be the implecations can come due to joining of two cubes? Please let me know.

Depends on what you mean.  You can certainly design a new cube which assembles the same data as in the 2 cubes you want to "join" (I'm not sure if you really mean join or something like the equivalent of a union), but aside from that no, there's not a way to do that in Transformer.
We're running ReportNet, not C8, but I'd be very surprised if there isn't some way to model the 2 cube data sources so you can use them together in the studios.

Import your Cubes into FM Model create a package(include both the cubes) using both the cubes and publish it. Join the cubes at RS level.
