Greetings!
I finished designing my *first* cube for a sales datamart.
To validate my cube in Powerplay, I created the following crosstab (regions by order date by quantity) :
Quote4/10 4/11 4/12
WEST 53 3 na
EAST 5 56 55
NORTH 10 43 26
SOUTH na 32 na
My user does not want to display "na" for the tuples where there is no data.
I have played with the inclusion option (under GENERAL tab) of my levels but to no avail: the tuples where there is no data still show.
Is it feasible? Is there a way to design my cube so that it can be accomplished?
Thanks in advance for helping.
Al.
What is it they want to see, zeroes or blank space?
If it's zeroes, change the Missing Value property for the measure from NA to Zero (which should also be the default, at least it is in our environmet).
For blank space, you may be out of luck.
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, my user wishes to see neither zeroes nor "n/a" or blank spaces. To me, this does *not* seem feasible.
I believe my user does not understand how cubes work: it would make more sense that if I was to build a report that filters out data "where condition=n/a"...
Thanks.
Al.
You are correct (about your user). Of course, a filtered report approach wouldn't yield any different results if the report is a crosstab.
