Hi Guys,

I have a problem with Powerplay Transformer connecting to SQL Server.

I have created an IQD file and tried to generate cube, everything is ok but in the final step of powerplay transformer i'm facing this error "DMS-E-GENERAL,A general exception has occured during operation 'attach database' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Dialog failed". Could anybody having solution please let me know.

Hi,

There are many potential problems here.

Q1 - Can you right click the data sources tab and preview the data?

Q2 - Where exactly does it fail? You mention 'final step', but this stage to me is where Transformer has done it's data retrieval from the database and is in the final stages of cube building.

Is your data source defined in AccMgr or cognos.ini?

Once you confirm which datasource is causing you grief, can you post the iqd sql ... or, does the sql work with SQL query analyser?
