Title: How to create new copy of an existing model in CAC and how to import .xml
Post by: sreddyy on 07 Apr 2008 11:05:44 AM
Hi,

Can someone help me out how to handle following scenarios?
a) How to create Copy of an existing application on CAC without using backend databases?
b) What is the difference between XML files generated from Development and Production for an application using CAC?
c) How to import .XML into an existing application inside CAC?

Thanks in advance

What version are you using?

For question c on 8.1 you import the xml through use of a macro.  Step is called upload a development model.

a, do you mean you want to copy an existing model in the CAC only?

Thank you very much for the response!
Yes, I want to create copy of an existing application with a different name inside CAC without using analyst model and database of the current application.
Please let me know the differenecs in Development and Production XML files generated from an existing application in CAC.

Thanks

In 8.1 you cannot copy the model in CAC.  I do not know what version you are using, for exmaple if this is different in 8.3.

Development XML contains only model definition, no data in it.

If you're on 8.3 you can experiment with model export\import utilities.
