how to calculate variance from month to month aggregated total in Report Studio?

I think folks will need more info to help you with this.
Relational or DMR source?  What kind of report - list? crosstab?  Are the totals in columns or rows?
Otherwise I think the best answer we can give you is: subtract!

Cross Tab report,  source : Relational Data Base

I have the total of 12 months from Jan to Dec

I want to caluclate FEB-JAN, MARCH-FEB, APRIL-MARCH  etc......

Code up a Current Month and Prior Month column in the Crosstab Query.  You can display these or use them to create the difference calculation.
