Title: Report on two different datasources in Cognos 8 Report Studio
Post by: DL20852 on 04 Mar 2008 01:42:55 PM
Question:  Is it possible to build a report in Report Studio and use two heterogenous datasources(Oracle and CSV)...?  And join on the same column which is in the two desperate datasources...???

Can this be accomplished by using a "Master Detail Relationship"...???

This sounds like you're used to how Business Objects works. AFAIK the two datasources SHOULD be from the same package. You can switch from within report studio to a different package, but this counts for the whole report..

Sure you can. Just create a framework project, include both datasources, create a relationship between them and add them all to a single package. I included a datasource pointing to a csv export from my access manager into the audit package. This way i can create reports based on the userclasses from the series 7 ldap.
