I want to run cognos8 report from VB application.Can anyone tell me the code for calling the cognos8 reports from VB application

Are we talking vb6 or vb.net?  either way you can find sample code with your c8 SDK install.  the related code is also documented in the 'cognos sdk developer guide' aka dg_sdk.pdf.
