Title: Administrator Mode
Post by: dougp on 27 Feb 2024 02:34:31 PM
CM-REQ-4250 Access to IBM Cognos is currently restricted to users who have administrative capability.

My users are suddenly getting this message.  I have never seen it before and I can't find any help on it.  I don't know how I put Cognos in administrator mode, I don't know how to get it out of administrator mode, and I'm not finding anything helpful in the docs.

Any help is appreciated.

Interesting! I haven't come across this one before either. I would first start by rebooting your content manager server (or the entire CA instance if it is standalone). Do you have just one Content Manager, or do you have a standby also? I'm wondering if it has tried to fail over to the standby and got stuck mid-process?

Cheers!

I think this happened when I unregistered a dispatcher.  Cognos probably had to put the system in administrator mode to perform the action, but then failed to return to normal mode.

Solution:  stop and start the remaining dispatcher.

All is well ...for now.

Glad you managed to fix it. Thanks for sharing the update.
