Title: Rights needed to run A<C link
Post by: jan.herout on 26 Feb 2008 12:11:43 PM
Hello, can someone advise me what access level do I need to access CTB data in A<C link? This applies to Cognos Planning 8.2

Situation I face:
- user group Controlling has "Review" access to "total" elist node
- GTP was run correctly
- user group Analyst has "Control" access to Analyst library
- when creating dlink and selecting "Contributor data" as a source, end user who is member of both Controlling and Analyst group only sees "Planning store" row, but does not see any datastore or application within the datastore
- when doing the same (on the same computer) under account who is member of System administrator role, I do not have this problem

What can be source of the problem?

Please advise...

Best regards,

Jan

Access rights to database are missing, i guess.

Good check is whether user can connect to pad via Contributor Console.

Yes, they can access the CAC. Concerning access rights to database, I always thougth that when running the link, Cognos uses the same credentials that are set for the datastore, am I correct?

Thanks for the tip!

Problem solved, issue was with membership in Planning Rights Administrator role. I was wrong about them to be able to access CAC.

Yuri, thank you for the tip.
