Title: Cognos Configuration problem in Cognos8

Cognos Configuration problem in Cognos8

In Cognos Configuration when i right click 'content store' & click 'test database' thing are fine.
but after that when I click 'start(green) button' it gives following error:

" A service with the same name, 'cognos8', is already registered.
Please rename the Cognos 8 Service. "

I reanme it to 'Cognosabc' & click save button & then click start(green button) it gives following error.

hi
please check this is the first time you are installing and configuring.Because this error is mostly like to be multiple instalation and configuration.
So please remove whole cognos8 from the machine and check that no traces of cognos8 present anywhere in the machine and start fresh installation cofiguration.If you get same problem let me know.

This issue was resolved. The problem is with content store. The reason may be that either the content store is corrupt in partiall or full. Best resolution is to remove Content Store & recreate it.

Look in the error report above, first 9 lines hint to corruption of content store.
