We have a requirement to generate PDF documents with embedded code 128 barcodes.
There are plenty of Code128 fonts available, but we are struggling to find one with a compatable encoder to generate the check-digit and control characters.
The datasource is Oracle, so an SQL encoder is an option.
Can anyone recommend a solution?
Just to advise that we have a solution to this. Despite IDAutomation's statement on their website that they have no compatibility with Cognos, the customer decided to purchase the font pack and developer licence anyway. The developer licence included an SQL encoder that converted the text to code128 symbology and the bar codes are generated successfully.
Thank you for the update.
I didn't notice this thread but we achieved the same with the google font - we had to encode the ean 13 (in our case) so that it was correctly embedded in PDF. The font only needs to be installed on the Cognos Server.
