Title: Formatting a report in Report Studio with Nested headers like in Excel
Post by: mallika on 29 Sep 2005 03:15:21 PM
I am trying to create static headers in my list report. Say I have colums A, B, C and D. I want to create static column title E on top of A and B combined and static column F on top of C and D combined resulting in nested columns. The conventional way ie by adding a list header and changing the column titles property to 'start at details' instead of 'start at beginning of list' works well ... however I also have group headers in my list and with grouped headers this approach does not work ( the column titles appear at the beginning of every group in a page).

Does anyone know any other way of doing this.  Thanks in advance.

There is a video in Cognos's multimedia KB with how to create static headers. I believe they use blocks. 1 for the header and 1 for the values.
