We are upgrading from 11.1.6 to 11.1.7 FP2.
I have installed CA 11.1.7 to our environment. I have NOT started Cognos yet.
Do I have to startup Cognos now? Or, can I now install FP2 and then startup Cognos after applying FP2?
Just wondering if I need to startup the Cognos services between installing 11.1.7 and installing 11.1.7 FP2? Thinking I probably should fire them up, but wanted to see if anyone knew what the "best practice" was.
Thanks!!

Hi,
Every install and every fix pack is a complete install in its own right. There's no need to install 11.1.7 before installing 11.1.7 FP2 - you can just install 11.1.7 FP2 directly over the top of 11.1.6. Of course, back up your install directories and your content store beforehand - just in case of issues.
You don't need to start 11.1.7 before installing 11.1.7 FP2. It won't harm anything if you do, but there's no need.
Cheers!
MF.
