My job uses Cognos for developing reports and until recently I would have both Report Studio and Workspace Advanced. Due to circumstances outside of my control, Report Studio was removed for almost all users. I always preferred Report Studio since I was able to create custom filter expressions (ie. pull data from previous business day) for automated reporting.
Was wondering, is there anywhere in Workspace Advanced that allows me to create custom filter expressions? The only filter editing options I am seeing is Specific, Comparison, and Range...
Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
I don't have access to a Cognos 10 instance to refer back to, sorry. From memory, it was possible to customise the functionality available in Cognos Workspace Advanced and create different user interface profiles that could be allocated to different groups of users. If your current profile doesn't give you access to custom filter expressions, it should be possible for one of your admins to edit it (or create a new one) that does, and make it available to you.
From a license perspective you'd need an Analytics User license to be able to use Cognos Workspace Advanced, and this would also give you access to Report Studio. It might be worth asking if you can have your Report Studio access re-instated?

Yes reaching out to the admin to see if I can get Report Studio re-instated but unfortunately there is a lot of politics involved so may take a while. In the meantime I have been looking to see if there are any alternative options in creating filter expressions through Workspace Advanced. Thanks!
