Title: Problems with Cognos 11.0.13 and User Defined SQL
Post by: ale137 on 04 Jan 2021 04:22:42 PM
Could it be that there is an issue with Cognos 11.0.13 that doesnt let one use User Defined SQL with models?

I have a report with a package and it uses  User Defined SQLs, but when in the same system I try to use that but with a model i get the error RSV-VAL-0010 Failed to load the report specification. XQE-PLN-0148 User defined SQL is not permitted.

I went crazy and gave the capability User Defined SQL to Everyone and Authenticated Users with all the permissions, and still i got the same error.

I dont have this issue with Cognos 11.1.X. So is there a problem with this version?

A package comes from a model, so isn't that the same thing?  Or do you mean a module?

I have seen queries from modules sometimes using MDX, and I'm not sure it's MDX that is looking directly at the database.  It looks like it's written for some obscured, in-memory cube that Cognos is building.  Very confusing.

You say it's working in 11.1.x and not in 11.0.13.  Are you sure you're comparing apples and apples?  (notice the "sometimes" above)  Be sure you are using the exact same report in both environments when performing that type of comparison.
