We are going to be migrating to Cognos 11 (FINALLY), and I wanted to know, if I back up the content store, will users personal reports and schedules in their "My Folders" area be transferred and will any scheduled reports/tasks in the "Public Folders" area go over as well once the backup is imported. I think they will, but I've not been able to find any answers online for this. I tried testing this between Cognos 10 and 11 via my Dev environments, but it's not working....though I only have Anonymous and no LDAP is set up in Congos 10 currently. Tried to get that changed, but it's not something our admin team can just do. I have a client meeting tomorrow and would like to give them a good answer to this question.

Hi,
All of this is held in the Content Store, so if you transfer over the entire content store you will retain everything. However... Cognos Analytics will need to identify your users and groups in exactly the same way Cognos 10 does now. This means you will need to use the same authentication provider, configured in exactly the same way. If you don't do this, the internal CAMIDs of the users and groups will be different, so Cognos Analytics will see them as different users/groups and nothing personal from the Cognos 10 content will be visible to them.
Cheers!
MF.
Thanks MFGF! I thought that's how it should work. I appreciate your answer!
