I have a crosstab report that basically counts the numbers of orders per day. I'm looking to add conditional formatting to the reporting, however Cognos seems to be reading the count as a string and not numerical. Any insight as to why this is happening? Or how it could be modified? Any help would be appreciated, thx!

Hi,
How are you counting the rows - are you using a calculated item? If so, what expression are you using, and what do you have the detail aggregate property for your count item set to?
Cheers!

Hello MFGF,
I am counting a data field that contains strings. I have the detail aggregate property set to count as well as the summary property. This is the method I am using to count, no other expressions. After the report is ran the values are in a numeric format as I can filter based on a number or range, however when I am trying to edit and add in conditional settings to alter the report when ran, it is reading the count as a string.
