Title: copying only the package from folder to Public folders without moving the report
Post by: seth_chin@yahoo.com on 24 Mar 2020 08:14:00 AM
Hi,

Is there a way to copy only the package (and not all the reports under the package) from a different folder to "Public Folders"?  Lets say I have "Greatoutdoors" package under "Public Folders/DeptA/"
and there are 10 reports under "Greatoutdoors" package.  I want to move only the "Greatoutsoors" package under "Public Folders" and not move any of the reports.  Is there a way to do this?  I know I can copy and paste the "Greatoutdoors" package to be under the "Public Folders" and then delete all the reports but trying to see if there is a way to just copy the package and not the reports underneath the package?

Thanks

In your scenario it sounds like you are allowing the package to behave as a folder.  Can you copy a folder without its contents?

I decided a long time ago I did not like that behavior.  I don't allow anything to be stored "within" a package in my environment.
