Title: Transformer 8.3 Shutting Down
Post by: whatever890 on 31 Jan 2008 08:25:09 AM
Hi all,

We've recently installed Transformer 8.3 on our test server and I can't get my large cubes to build (2gb+, over 6  hours of read time).  The app just completely shuts down with no error in any logs, Cognos or system.  There's over 4gb of RAM and plenty of disk space.  Has anyone else experienced this??

TIA

I understand that Cognos has a problem with cubes 2gb+ in size? I mean it's not supported or something, as I understand it. But, I could be wrong there.

Why not try cube groups and see if that works?

Actually, transformer supports cubes with more than 2gbs, you just have to adjust MaxFileTreshold parameter in cogtr.xml or cognos.ini.

Is this parameter set in your new environment?

Thanks for the replies - it was actually an issue with Terminal Services....seems our IT team "forgot" to mention that I need to use the \console switch when logging on to the server, otherwise all processes are shut down after 2 hours.

Also, yes, I made the update to the cogtr.xml file.

Thanks again.
