Title: Docker containers for Cognos
Post by: cognoslearner1 on 28 Jan 2020 07:23:53 AM

Hi All,

I have few questions on Cognos containerization

1) Is it possible to create Cognos image/ containers using docker ?

2) Do we have official images from IBM ?

3) Is it possible to run distributed environments using containerization method ? ( As of now I have 1 gateway and 1 application tier components installed on different servers can we create 2 separate containers for this ?)

4) Can you please share your experience or any documentation if you have created Cognos image

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

As far as I'm aware, IBM hasn't released a containerized version of Cognos Analytics on Passport Advantage. My understanding is that the version you can provision in Cloud Pak for Data *is* containerized, though. I don't know if/when IBM might make it generally available outside ICP4D - that would be a question for your friendly IBM account manager...

Cheers!

MF.
