Hi, All
We have been struggling with a strange issue when installing FrameWork Manager 11.1 .
Basically, we follow the process which is described here: -- https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-install-framework-manager-cognos-analytics-111x
Steps
Steps to install Framework Manager:
- Download the IBM Cognos Analytics Installer 2.0 Microsoft Windows Multilingual component (Part number: CNV57ML ) from the Passport Advantage website. (You may already have this since installing Cognos Analytics 11.1)
- Download the IBM Cognos Analytics Client tools 11.1.1 Multiplatform Multilingual (Part number: CNV58ML ) from the Passport Advantage website
- Run the installer
- When prompted to select a repository to extract files from, select the ca_client_MP_11.1 file
- Select IBM Cognos Analytics tools and then Framework Manager
- Accept the license agreement and choose the install location for the application
- Install the application.
Installation looked good. However, instead of FrameWork Manager version 11.1 (one) we got Framework Manager version 11.0 (zero)
That is strange because previously (in August to be exact) installation process with the same downloaded files was successful and on one machine we have version 11.1. I am wondering why is it happening - probably, some communication issues. In August installation had been done with one type of VPN and now in November with other VPN.
Has anyone encountered this kind of problem before? And how did you solve it?
Thanks a lot in advance
I have not encountered it.
Where are you seeing the reference to 11.0? The about box?
Open the cmplst.txt file in the FM installation root directory.
There will be two items of interest. One is the manifest number and the other, just below it, is the product version.
What are they for your installation?
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it was in About CFM under Help
The issue has been solved. I forgot to mention that users which faced the issue are our colleagues in Belarus and France. So during installation process they had local settings Region and Language on their OS and after installation they got CFM info in their local languages. We have English and US in our settings. When these setting were changed to English and US and after reboot the CFM showed the version 11.1
Strange as it seems but it looks that during installation the CFM looks for the most recent localized version for a particular country - the 11.0 in case of Belarus and France. I do not know though why it is happening, maybe others had the same experience.
