Hi,

1. Back up your content store - either using the database's backup utility, and/or via Tools -> Content Administration from Cognos Connection.

2. Uninstall Cognos 8.2.

3. Install Cognos 8.3 and point it at your existing Content Store.  Let it upgrade your reports when it asks.

4. Test your installation works - if you get any strange errors or behaviours, try creating a new content store database and importing your backup via Tools -> Content Administration.

Regards,

MF.

Ditto for me - any details would be great as I'm flying blind.

Using content administrator, export your content store. Check the box to include user and security.  Save the resulting file in a location external to your Cognos directory.

Then uninstall 8.2, install 8.3, and define your content store location and server.  If this is the same as your 8.2 store, your content will still be there.  If it is not, then move your export file back into the cognos deployment directory, and using content administration, import it.

Your reports will have to be validated and potentially upgraded and your security will be defined as before.
