Hi,
You install directly over the top of your existing 11.0.12. Make sure you take a backup of your existing instance before you start (including the content store) - just in case.

Thank you very much! Do i need a different install location then my current one for 11.0.12? Thanks! :)

Hi,
If you just want to replace 11.0.12 with 11.1.3 then you install over the top in the same install location. If you want to run them in parallel, then you will need them installed in different locations and using different ports and different content store databases.

Excellent! Thanks so much for the information. I just installed over the top. :)
Have a great day!!
Where are the files we customized located? In Cognos 10.2.2, there was a bkp folder where the files that were overwritten by either upgrading or applying a fix pack were stored.

Hi,
Does this page help?

I would prefer to do a new install. I tried the over-the-top install from 11.1.2 to 11.1.3 and I have had many problems down the road with strange errors in the logs. In the past I have always done a new install but was told that the over-the-top was working fine. I am not convinced.
