Title: Scheduled reports db connection timeout, re-run works fine
Post by: karaokekev on 17 Jun 2019 08:58:51 PM
Having an issue. Starting last week, scheduled reports are failing.

QuoteQE-DEF-0285 The logon failed. XQE-DS-0006 Unable to logon to the data source. The Network Adapter could not establish the connection The Network Adapter could not establish the connection connect timed out

However, if I click rerun it will complete without issue. The issue has survived restarts and a server reboot. I suspect an issue on the db side, but unless I can definitively point to something on their end I don't expect the DBAs to be much help.

Hi,

Are you seeing more details in the XQE log? This looks like a timeout waiting for the database connection to establish. The XQE log might have more information you can use?

MF.

Nothing in XQE or cogserver.log.

I've honed in on the issue. For some reason, the scheduled reports have started routing through a different server which is in a DMZ, so the traffic is being blocked. If I drop that server, the scheduled reports complete. When I start it, they fail again. How can I ensure that scheduled reports are not running through that server?
