Title: Rename TM1 dimensions in workspace Advanced
Post by: Severin on 20 Jul 2018 04:52:19 AM
Hi, I use TM1 cubes as source of reporting in cognos BI. The dimensions have very technical names in TM1.  Can we display dimensions with more functional names in order to be used by final users in WORKSPACE ADVANCED.

you can do that if you are using a package created form Framework manager. You can set that up in Framework manager,  you can create business names while creating the package.

Thanks for your reply SDF
But I don't find any option in Framework manager to edit the TM1 cube, I can only publish the package. No other options.
Have you tried to edit the name of TM1 cubes and dimension in Framework manager? Maybe I miss something

Sorry I was out of context.

This might help.

Regarding renaming the dimensions.
You may need to have an alias set for the dimensions. So this is done in TM1. Make the alias as the names you want to show in your reporting.
Then in Framework manager, select each dimension you might need to launch metadata wizard.

I'm not 100% sure in editing the existing package. What I'm sure of is when creating a package from Tm1, after connecting and selecting the cube, you can select which name will be used in the package either the dimension name or the alias.
