Title: Identifying user defined sql in Report studio
Post by: asmfloyd on 13 Jul 2018 12:42:53 PM
Hello,
I am new to Cognos. I have created a report using a  prompt page and a list in Cognos 10. When I run as administrator, it is working well. When I run as a user, it is saying "User defined sql is not permitted."
I verified the query tab which just has the query for the prompts and the list.
I do not think I have created any user defined sql. How do I fix this?

PS:I am not intending to give permission for user for user defined sql.

Thanks,
Floyd

Can you attach the report xml? In the page or queries explorer tab right click on the Report line and Copy report to clipboard. Just paste that into a txt and attach it here.

This really should only happen if an SQL object is defined in the queries. If it's not there, another possibility might be that you're importing an object from another report that has one. Maybe there's some handwritten SQL embedded in a data item?

Thank you for your inputs CognosPaul. I just figured that the the previously used "userdefined query object" was not deleted from the query area. My bad.
