Hi,

Either create a deployment from ReportNet then import this into Cognos 8, or else just point Cognos 8 at your original ReportNet content store database if you never need to use it with ReportNet again.

MF.

In Cognos Connection (ReportNet), use the Tools link in the top right corner and select the 'Deployment' option.  From within the deployment dialog you can export your entire content store to an archive file.  This physically gets written into Program files\cognos\crn\deployment.

Once this is complete, copy the archive file to your c8 environment - again into Program files\cognos\c8\deployment.

In Cognos Connection (Cognos 8), use the Tools link in the top right corner and select the 'Content Administration' option.  From within the Content Administration dialog you can import your archive file into the c8 content store.

Regards,

MF.

MFGF,

Thanks for the reply. What about uipgrading Framework manager models? The document says
that it changes the data type because 8.3 uses diff. data types than Reportnet 1.1.

What happens to the reports when the data type is changed. The FM package is also generating
IQD's for cubes.

Thanks

Hi

Just open reportnet report and go to tools--> select copy to clipboard and
open blank template in cognos 8 and go to tools--> select open from clipboard.

This is also one way to upgrade reports from reportnet to cognos8.
