Title: Connect cognos 10.2.2 with Parquet file
Post by: Shamar on 08 Feb 2018 04:40:57 AM
Hello All,

(Q1) Is there any way to connect Cognos 10.2.2 with the Parquet file (Which is basically a Hadoop's data file) and need to create reports in query studio.

(Q2) Cognos is installed in one server and parquet file is available in different server. How to make them communicate?

   Kindly suggest me .

Thanks in Advance,
Shamar

Hi,

The usual way to connect Cognos to Hadoop is via Apache Hive. There's no support for Parquet files as data sources directly, though.

You can find a list of the data sources Cognos supports here:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27042164

Cognos does support generic ODBC connections. Might be worth looking to see if there is an ODBC driver that you can use to connect to Parquet files?

Just a thought...

Cheers!

MF.

There is a 3rd part solution: https://datavirtuality.com/, it claimed can connect Parquet and CA, I did not try only put the link here for reference
