I am almost certain this is not possible but I will ask anyway to be sure:
Can you build a dashboard so that users (who have dashboard capability) can make selections using whatever is at the dashboard BUT they can not edit the dashboard, add more data etc (or make a private copy of it)?

Hi

We did face this problem where in users with even read/execute access to dashboard capability are able to edit. The only way we could restrict is by role customization. We hid the edit button to prevent modifications.

i did face the same issue.i have used text for 'No Action' from Title to filter symbol, when user clicks on it.
