Title: Element Level Security - Default new Leaf elements?
Post by: donap on 08 Jan 2018 08:57:40 AM
OK - We have a dimension that uses Element Level Security by user group. Last week, we ran our Monthly process- Runs a Dimension Build TI process to refresh the dimension and then the Data Load to pick up the monthly closing data

The dimension build TI process does not DELETE any elements -- it Unwinds relationships, then reapplies from a master table on the source Database, moving or adding leaf level elements as the data indicates.
Several new leaf level elements were added to the dimension

Here is my question --  WHAT IS THE EXPECTED default Element Security Access for a new element to a dimension that has an }Element_Security_mydim cube   ??

These new elements showed up in }Element-Security_mydim    as NONE -- just wondering if this the expected behavior to plan for updates going forward.
TIA

Once you have created the }ElementSecurity_mydim cube, the default will be as you have noted. New elements get added but you are now required to set the security for these elements.
