Title: Microsoft Management Console - Performance Counters for C8
Post by: biejorrun on 21 Dec 2007 08:26:26 AM
Hi all,

I've got a question.

For monitoring issues, I started looking for some "simple and easy" monitoring possibilities.
Unfortunately, I only found a manual about enabling MMC-Counters in ReportNet (older versions).
I started looking for this solution in C8, but didn't find any of the DLL's mentioned.

Does anyone setup these counters for C8? If yes, how? If no, what other monitoring possibilities do I have?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/anwers...

Bjorn

Thanks for your reply. Read it a little late, but hey - still best wishes for 2k8!

There must be other monitoring possibilities for C8.
I'm monitoring CPU, RAM (over windows task manager), and some SQL Server 2000 counters right now. Additionally, the single Cognos services in C8 itself (Server Administration).

How do you guys monitor your environments?

Thanks in advance -

Björn

The Auditicg package is quite right for monitoring user and report activities. But system wise, you only monitor what you do today. Perhaps hookup remote Garbagae Collector Ananlyzer for the content stre service. How much monitoring do you really need?
