Title: Modelling best practices : how to protect automatically dcube selection?
Post by: jan.herout on 20 Dec 2007 04:23:27 AM
Have a nice day!

I was wondering if someone would advise me. Is there a way how to automatically LOCK/PROTECT/HOLD selection on a dcube based on data in parametric dcube?

Let me explain my question further - let's imagine the following setup :

---
DCUBE : SalesMargin - sales margin dcube; structure
- 1 SalesMargin - calculation dlist
- 2 Product
- 4 Months-24-rolling
- 5 Version - items {1st submission, 2nd submission, ...}
- 5 Scenario - items {Budget current year, Budget N+1, Tendency 1, Tendency 2, ...}

DCUBE : GlobPar - global parameters dcube; structure
- dlist 3 Global Parameters - contains dlist formatted items {Current version : format is 5 Version, Current Scenario : format is 5 Scenario}
- "dummy" dlist named 3 LabelData - one item - {DATA}

OTHER NOTES
- version and scenario dlist will never be updated
---

Is there a way how to LOCK/PROTECT/HOLD the appropriate selection on 5 Version and 5 Scenario within SalesMargin dcube, based on scenario and version selected in GlobPar dcube? How would you implement that?

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions...

But it's only possible in Analyst, not Contributor.
