Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to refresh a DATASET with a JOB in Cognos Analytics ?
I plan to have several dataset and I dont want to manage the refresh Schedule by each dataset. I want to mange this with a job that starts the refresh of data. But I cant see how this can be done. Its not possible to pick up a dataset when I create a job.

I am told the functionality of adding Data Set refreshes to a Job is incorporated in CA 11.1.7.
However, I have not confirmed this as we have not upgraded yet.
You can certainly add a schedule to a Data Set refresh.
This gives you the option for time dependent reloads.
For event dependent reloads, you can use the Trigger based scheduling functionality plus appropriate scripting to execute the defined trigger.

Hi D,
You can either create a schedule for refreshing a data set in isolation, or in 11.1.7 you can add refreshing a data set as a step in a Job.
