Title: OBIEE and Cognos
Post by: BIROOKIE on 09 Dec 2007 03:47:02 PM
Hello,
I went to Oracle World a month back.  I see a lot of value in putting Cognos on top (Oracle calls it "Hot Pluggable") of their BI Stack.  They have an arrow from their BI Server into 3rd party tools and they label the arrow "Open SQL Interface".  Sorry for the stupid question but what does this mean?  I'm assuming that Cognos or any other 3rd party tool could connect via ODBC, when they say "Open SQL Interface" was does that mean?

Thanks for any response
