Title: Dashboard and DataServers with multiple signons
Post by: gohabsgo on 06 Jul 2017 12:21:27 PM
Hey Folks,
I was wondering if anyone has any advice or has run into a situation similar to what we're going through.

We have data sources defined with many distinct signons that are used to scope the data that is returned when users run reports.

So User A and User B both run a report, they each use their own signons which scope the data for them on the database side so they only will see appropriate data for them.

We've run into the limitation where dashboards require data sources that are based off of connections that have a single signon.

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI77021&myns=swgimgmt&mynp=OCSSEP7J&mync=R&cm_sp=swgimgmt-_-OCSSEP7J-_-R

These severely limits our usage of Dashboards if we're going to need to create a single data server for not only every client we have, but every user within those clients since they all have distinct signons that scope their data appropriately.

Any thoughts on some alternative strategies we could use?

Thanks in advance,

We were just advised (after having a call open with IBM for 2 months) that this is expected behavior with dashboards.  We are also having this issue with data source connections with multiple cube connections in the Reporting interface.  The Loading Package.... dialog box just spins and spins and "ambiguous connection" appears in the logs.  We are having to postpone our planned upgrade due to this.
