Title: Photobucket
Post by: MFGF on 30 Jun 2017 03:35:36 AM
Oh dear. Looks like Photobucket have changed their terms and conditions, and no longer permit third party image hosting from a free account. It seems they now demand $400 per year for this privilege. I have been using Photobucket to host images I use in some of my Cognoise posts, and it now appears these are all blocked from view in Cognoise. I'm guessing other members might be in a similar position too. Time for me to look for an alternative location to host my images...

Don't wish to complicate things for you, but there's not only the constraint of the provider now being a paid service. There's also the question of what people can access from their workplace. A couple of years ago you recommended Photobucket for uploading images, but this site was blocked by the employer I had then.

No matter where you choose to host images, there are likely to be some employers blocking it. Nothing anyone can do about that (except the employer of course).

I have been through all my old posts and changed the hosting of images from photobucket.com to imgbb.com, so all being well my images are now visible again (to those that can access those sites, anyway) :)

Cheers!

That Herculean effort in itself is worth a bucketload of applauds :)  And imgbb.com is accessible to me, and I hope many other forum members.
