Title: Some County Map CMF files
Post by: meetdave on 20 Jun 2017 12:59:12 PM
Greetings, Cognoise:

There are still some good reasons to use "traditional" CMF maps in Cognos Analytics. RAVE maps don't offer quite the same set of features, and the new dashboard maps are only available for dashboards, not reports. To help the cause, I'm uploading all the US county CMF file maps that I have on file, for all the 48 continental states. Though indeed counties are part of the base maps in Cognos Analytics, I still find it problematic to use the "expand features" property in many cases, so I often find myself using these.

Here are a few notes on usability: places like "La Salle" might be "LaSalle", or vice versa, in some states. Add Aliases to your map to address this easily. Plus one county, Doña Ana County in New Mexico needs an alias for sure, because of the Spanish letter with tilde. And I had to take some liberties with "county equivalents." For example, in Maryland you'll find both a "Baltimore" and a "Baltimore City," for two different polygons.

Have fun everyone!
