Title: 11.0.6 Email Attachments not being sent - Stuck in Waiting -> Resolved

Hey Folks,
I'm seeing some odd behavior with 11.0.6 and sending out email attachments.  I'm able to successfully send links to reports without issue but when I attempt to send (or schedule) a report with a report attached (any format) then it gets stuck in Waiting with this message;

CNC-SDS-0408 There are email messages waiting to be sent.

Same email configuration as my 11.0.0 installs and our IT folks have confirmed that they don't see any restrictions on their side.

Any insight would be most appreciated!

Could you check your logs around the time this happened and see if there are more error messages? There could be a few reasons associated with this error. There should be more info in the logs, possibly a message from your mail server as well.

Make sure the account the mail server is sending from is valid.

So I came in this morning and lo and behold my inbox was full of the emails with attachments.  During the day today I've done more testing and it seems that reports are getting Q'd up somewhere/somehow and initially getting stuck in waiting and then all of a sudden they all get sent out at once.

I've had the IT guys look at it from there side and they don't see anything out of the ordinary.

This seems to only be happening on our 11.0.6 environments too, the other 11.0.0 send out their reports right away.

Any thoughts on where I can check?

It's possible your Notice Cast tables are out of sync with the content store delivery schedule. The behavior you described certainly seems like an issue with the NC tables.

It's difficult for me to give you detailed advice without having a close look at your logs, but flushing out the information in your NC tables and re-populating it with the correct ones in the content store may resolve your issue. Here's how to do it:

Would you be able to post the contents from that link? For some reason, my IBM login doesn't allow me to look at this link and we are set to Go-Live with our Cognos 11.0.6 environment in a few weeks. Sending out e-mails with reports attached is something we will definitely need working.

Basically it says they did very great job (and testing) in R6 so any schedule with text in the email body gets stuck in waiting status and won't run.

Fix planned so far: R7...
