Title: cogos firewall ports.
Post by: cognoslearner1 on 17 May 2017 08:18:40 AM
Hi All,

We are installing Cognos 10.2.2 please let me know the firewall ports to be opened .

I think we must open 9300 (dispatcher),9362 (log port) ,25 (smtp)

Please let me know if these are correct or if I have missed something else.

Thanks,
Cognoslearner1

You can set the ports to be whatever numbers you desire in Cognos Configuration, so the choice is yours. The ports above are the defaults.

Cheers!

Thank you MFGF for your reply.

My question was do we need to request network team to open these firewall ports (Yes we are planning to use default ports) ?

Thanks & Regards,

The question really is whether you are accessing Cognos entirely behind the firewall (in which case the ports do not need to be opened in the firewall) or if you need network requests to move through the firewall because it sits between client machines and Cognos, or databases and Cognos, or different machines in the Cognos architecture. I can't answer that question because I don't know your situation?
