Title: Complying with PVU licensing for non-named user
Post by: CognosChai on 16 May 2017 01:11:23 PM
In our environment we have 2 servers.  One with 8 cpu and one with 2 cpu.  Our information distribution license is for only 2 PVU.  When scheduling a report to be burst and/or emailed to an external customer, who is not a named user how do you force the report to run on the 2 cpu server in order to comply with the licensing requirement?

Easiest way would be to use routing rules.

Create a package dedicated for use for your external customers, and use routing rules (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/cognos/infrastructure/cognos_specific/page510.html) to ensure that reports run against that package always goes to your PVU server.
