Title: Moving the Layout Reference Component Report blows away Overrides - any ideas?
Post by: cognosguru on 15 May 2017 03:46:12 PM
Hi Gang,

I am using a Layout Component Reference pointing to a report in a folder to reuse Headers/Footers.  Within it I have overrides for Report Name, etc.  When I move the LCR report to another location and then in RS try to update my report using it, it does but my overrides get blown away.  It makes sense because it sees it as a new reference but I was hoping Cognos would be smarter.  Anyone figure out a way without blowing up the overrides?

Thanks!

Hi,
Where I work we did the same and the overrides stayed in place, we did cut and pasted the LCR report and without even updating the reference the LCR is working fine.
Good luck

New_Guy, just tested your idea and it doesn't work for me.  When I cut and paste the LCR into a different location my main report doesn't run.

Cool, did not know that New_Guy!  Thanks for the info.  We won't be doing that but good to know it exists.
