Title: Cognos Analyics 11.0.6 and Series 7 Namespace User Groups not available
Post by: Zapalo on 09 May 2017 09:30:22 AM
Hi All,

Has anybody configured Cognos Analytics with a Series 7 Namespace? We are tethered to it due to legacy Cognos Planning integration unfortunately. The authentication is working against the namespace but I can't browse below the Root User Class node in the hierarchy from Cognos Connection (or whatever it is called now). I can browse it from the Administration console without issue but need to apply security to the Team Folder content. It appears grayed out

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We had this issue in 11.0.3 though was later fixed through subsequent versions.

If you have upgraded to 11.0.6 make sure you have gone through the steps for 11.0.3, 11.0.4, 11.0.5 as if you were installing those versions.

I found each time we upgraded to the next version i would have to all of the above previous steps.

Thanks Grumblenuts,

This is a clean install of 11.0.6 unfortunately. So much for the new over the top releases....

I've found a work around, adding the portal.disablecc parameter with a value of false in advanced setting will allow you to browse 10.x Cognos Connection UI using the following URL

http://<dispatcher>:<port>/bi/v1/disp?b_action=xts.run&m=portal/cc.xts

Not ideal but you can apply security to objects successfully

Zapalo,
Did you find a solution for this? I'm glad there is a workaround but this has really put a thorn in our 11 upgrade process.
