Hi everyone,
Can someone please tell me if Planning Analytics Workspace can be installed into Docker on Windows 2012 R2 or does it have to be Windows 2016 (if going down the Windows, rather than Linix, route).
Thanks
JV
The current version uses linux docker containers so it requires the Docker Toolbox to run it on windows.
The toolbox comes with oracle vbox, so you will actually be running PAW inside that.
Thanks @Smiley.
I understand the involvement of Docker.
What is confusing me is can we install Docker on Windows Server 2012 R2 so we can then run the Linux VM inside that or do we need to have Windows Server 2016 to make that work?
Then, if we can do it in Windows Server 2012 R2 and it is a VM, what settings do we need on the VM so Docker will work?
Thanks for your help!
JV
As from windows 2016 Microsoft supports native docker solutions, so i take it you are hinting at that.
The current PAW containers are however linux only, thus require the docker toolbox when used on windows. Regardless if 2008, 2012 or 2016.
On a linux server you can run it as a native docker solution.
