Post by: sergiord2016 on 06 Apr 2017 02:37:35 PM
Hello ,

Do you know if IBM has any web page where i can download new maps to import with map manager?

Any other web page to download maps for IBM Cognos 10.2.2?

I have probed to connect it with google maps but no result.

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

The maps in 10.2.2 are Pitney Bowes MapInfo maps. If you have MapInfo Pro, you can author your own maps. These can then be imported into Map Manager and saved as Cognos Map Files (*.cmf)

It's also possible to call Google Maps from Cognos reports, although it requires a heap of javascript coding. The other big concern is that it means you are sending your data out to Google's servers to be plotted on their maps, so data security is an issue.

The simplest and easiest way forward is probably to upgrade to Cognos 11 (Cognos Analytics) which includes integration with Mapbox.

Cheers!

MF.
