Title: Subtotals when have multiple groupings
Post by: gatorfe on 17 Mar 2017 11:13:03 AM
Hello, we have a report that is grouped by year and week and we are subtotaling on 3 fields.  When we subtotal the 3 fields it creates a subtotal line for each field instead of leaving all the subtotals on one.  A pic is attached.  Is there any setting to make the subtotals show on one line?  We are running 10.2.1.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

When your table has no subtotals, what happens when you CTRL+click on each field that you'd like to subtotal, and select the subtotal option with all of the fields selected?

Thank you for the response.  We tried that but got the same result.

Hi,
Just a thought, did you try to unlock the report and tried to move the total data item to the desired location?
Good luck

Sorry for completely ignoring the topic at hand (new_guy has the solution anyways), but: Next time you post screenshots, you may want to make sure that neither your own org, nor your customer's names, nor your own or coworker's real names are visible.

In a company as large as yours, I'm fairly certain that posting screenshots like you did violates multiple internal guidelines and poses a compliance issue, and I'm not even looking at your customers' privacy concerns.

I had similar issue sometime back. What I did was removed the grouping then applied the subtotal and apply the grouping back.

Not sure that approach is right or not but solved my purpose.

It looks to me like you've got Year as a higher level grouping than Week Total for Quantity Remaining. What happens if you flip the order of your first two columns?

Otherwise, you can unlock the report, and drag the summary items into one row, then delete the other rows.
