Greetings Cognos users:
I have been given a task to generate a report of our Cognos usage statistics. We basically have a lot of users owning a Cognos license and we would like to see the usage statistics. I.e., on a monthly basis, how many users are accessing/using Cognos. Has anyone every tackled this before? If so, how? I am new to Cognos and would really appreciate your input.
We have Cognos 8 BI and have heard - that this version should provide usage information.
Hi,
This kind of information can be recorded if you tweak the logging levels in the Server Administration utility in Cognos Connection. It can be sent to files/event logs/databases etc - usually a database is best for keeping this kind of information, as it's then easy to report off it later. The logging destinations are configured using the Cognos Configuration utility.

Try the Audit package - you'll find many information about this topic on this forum!
Search for "Audit package".
