In the past we've installed DB2 Connect PE on our workstations. We have a new admin and need to get that person an ODBC connectionfrom PC to DB2 on z/OS.
Licensing has changed for DB2 Connect. I'm being told the replacement is IBM Data Server and we'll need to by a package of Enterprise licenses...thousands $
Is there another approach to this now assuming he must work from his desktop?

Hi,
If you are using ODBC or Native Client access, you need to have the client libraries on your local FM machine. If you switch to using JDBC, you don't - FM uses the connection defined on the server rather than connecting locally.
Cheers!
